I did make a fancier website, with arty ink splotches and no annoying WordPress blurb on the top. But I still can’t get it to work even after being on the phone for a day to Sanjay the boffin, so this is going to be a temporary filler until I can supply the one I made earlier.  I invited readers of my Herald column to visit me here so I thought I had better have something up: to at least say hello!

I usually write in print publications such as the Herald and the Listener but I’m taking a break and it seemed to be the done thing to have a website.

Once I get the bloody thing going it will have zippity doodah content about highbrow culture, financial shizzles  and even some of my favourite things, bouncy castles and Tiger Balm and banging new writing – and oh, I don’t know, stuff someone might like.

Also there will be another misleadingly flattering photo of me looking hot. With tidier hair, even.

In the meantime above is Tears and Cupcakes, a piece I wrote about separating when you have small kids. Yes it was in Little Treasures, but don’t sneer. It’s got a great editor and is actually an excellent publication. There is also some other guff about divorce I found helpful.

And Eccentric Ladyland is a piece about clothes which was published in Next magazine.  I won’t just stick warmed-over old copy on here though, promise.  Hey,  I can even swear on here, eh? No sub editors. Rooting. Rooting. Rooting. Just thought I’d say that. Great word, rooting. Ha ha. I’m liking this so far.
